Our home inspections are not intrusive on your home. We begin by inspecting your property grounds for current or potential water, grading, downspouts, walls, paths, and landscaping. A full evaluation of your building's structure will be made, including foundation, walls, windows, doors, trim, and other visible structures both interior and exterior. A full test of the electrical system will be performed as well as a general plumbing assessment. Inspectors will operate bathrooms and kitchens sinks, drains, and outlets for proper and working equipment. A roof evaluation will also be made to determine hardiness of roofing system.
A wind mitigation certification has great value! Not only can it save you hundreds of dollars on your homeowner's insurance but it could potentially identify areas that need immediate attention on your home. We inspect items like the roof covering (shingles, tiles, underlay, etc) for strength and durability as well as the fasteners that anchor the roof to the structure itself (including sheathing and wall attachments). An assessment of the roof shape, geometry and watertight integrity will also be considered during wind mitigation inspections. A wind mitigation certification is available upon request, with every home inspection we perform!
A “Four Point Inspection” focuses only on four main areas of interest in a home:
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning)
Electrical wiring and panels
Plumbing connections and fixtures
Roof
The 4-Point Inspection is often a required inspection in order to obtain (or maintain) insurance coverage. The inspection requirements were designed by insurance companies in order to get a better understanding of the structure they are insuring.
